Description: Vaping has been named a youth epidemic by the U.S. Surgeon General. Use of e-cigarettes by students has skyrocketed and parents expect schools to take an active role in fighting this threat to students' health. What can school districts do to help prevent vaping on campus?
This presentation provides guidance on several topics, including staff training, methods of detection, rules of search and seizure, enforcement of rules and student discipline. We will also review what nurses and counselors can and should do to partner with school administration in these efforts.
